Top 10 Exhaust Videos of June 2010

Most popular exhaust videos of June 2010

The most popular exhaust videos of June, 2010.

#1 – 2011 Mustang GT with Magnaflow Competition Series 3″ Cat-Back

These new 2011 5.0 Mustangs are just ridiculous. With some basic modifications (air intake, exhaust system, headers, and 4.10 gears) this car runs a 12.6. To put that in perspective, consider this: a 2011 Corvette Z06 with 505 horsepower runs a quarter-mile in 11.8…and costs $65k more.

#2 – 2010 B8 S4 3.0T with RSC Cat-back Exhaust

The sound quality is only fair, but you get a real sense of what it sounds like out on the road. This video is also cool because there’s a camera mounted under the front bumper, so you get to hear it and see it work through the gears on some winding roads. The turbo-whine is pretty cool too.

The best part – no discernible drone. When you buy an S4, you want both power and luxury, right?

#3 – A heavily modified BMW M5 V10 with a Manhart Racing Exhaust

The sound quality isn’t too hot, but everyone can appreciate a V10 Euro-Spec BMW performance sedan.

#4 – 2011 Mustang GT with Kooks Headers and Cat-back

This exhaust system company does a nice job of showing why an after-market exhaust can be an upgrade over a factory system. Specifically, they show stock exhaust tubing that’s been dented and crushed, a good illustration of the fact that even on performance vehicles, automakers tend to cut costs on the exhaust system.

Unfortunately, I think this system sounds too raspy. Maybe it’s just the camera microphone.

#5 – Heavily Modified 1969 Camaro SS with Flowmaster Exhaust and Custom Headers

If you want to get a sense of the market for this type of modified classic, check out the comments in this video. “We sell a lot of cars overseas” goes to show just how highly regarded classic American muscle cars are world-wide. Anyone want to guess at the price?

#6 – 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with Corsa Xtreme Cat-Back

People just can’t get enough of these new Mustangs.

#7 – 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with Muffler Delete

Remember kids, mufflers aren’t necessarily restrictive. It’s entirely possible to design a muffler that will reduce sound without restricting flow. Cars without mufflers sound cool, but you’re just begging for a traffic ticket if you drive one on the street.

#8 – Ferrari 360 Modena Custom Exhaust

I picked the wrong f’ing career. Instead of pursuing my dream of becoming an F1 race car driver (or, perhaps, an F1 race car engineer or something) I’m doing this…which means there’s a good chance this is as close as I’ll get to driving a 360.

The opening scene is crazy, then the music kicks in (annoying) until about 1:42, where you get to hear the difference in sound between the “silent” mode and the “exciting” mode. It’s a hell of a machine – if you have the means, I highly recommend it.

#9 – 806 HP Evo with ETS Exhaust

This thing is so loud the guy in the background has his hands over both ears and he still looks like he’s in pain. Congrats to these guys on getting 800+ wheel hp out of a 4 cylinder.

#10 – Dodge Viper with Belanger Cat-back

It’s only fitting that the last video on this list is the Viper. The very last Dodge Viper rolled out of the factory a few days ago, the car that arguably saved Dodge from extinction in the early 90’s. An icon to be sure.
